People who make changes in lifestyle & culinary medicine are from all walks of life – rural to urban, low income to wealthy, young to old. Every person comes together to learn, grow, and make healthier choices. Our workshops and support groups teach you how to start making more wholesome life choices and stay that way – from food to stress reduction and everywhere in between.
4Leaf 101
Join Rochester Regional Health’s Lifestyle Medicine team for a 5-week virtual class that will guide you step by step through adopting a (more) whole food, plant-based diet. This class is offered multiple times throughout the year. Although there is a charge for this class, no one will be turned away for inability to pay.
- Week 1
Overview of the health benefits of whole food, plant-based eating and doing a personal assessment of current diet - Week 2
Breakfasts, reading a nutrition label, cleaning out and stocking up, protein and fiber and lifestyle not a diet - Week 3
Lunches, meal planning, emotional eating, calcium and food addiction - Week 4
Dinners, cooking in bulk, cooking without oils and fats and cravings - Week 5
Fine-tuning, eating in restaurants, traveling, parties, carbs and alcohol

Plant-Based Monthly Support Group
Held on the first Monday of each month, participants gather virtually from 6-7 p.m. and ask questions about foods and cooking process, and find support from one another along the journey to better health! There is no cost. For now, attendance is virtual.

Mindfulness Classes
Whether you are unfamiliar with mindfulness or are well experienced, everyone is welcome to join us for our monthly gathering. Together we explore various ways to settle our minds and become more aware of the present moment. Consistent practice can make you feel more calm, happy, and at peace. Attendance is virtual; no advanced registration is needed. There is no cost.

Wellness Wednesday Series
Currently run virtually through Zoom, this multi-part series focuses on preventative medicine, easy lifestyle changes, and the science behind what makes them work. Join our specialists in Lifestyle & Culinary Medicine who explain how you can set goals and achieve that lifestyle you are working toward – one healthy change at a time.

The Lift Project
The Lift Project has been clinically shown to improve mood and wellbeing by 30 percent in just 10 weeks. This virtual weekly class is facilitated by our friends at the Rochester Lifestyle Medicine Institute and includes a fun and enlightening video about the happiness habit of the week along with a facilitated group discussion.

15-Day Whole-Food Plant-Based Jumpstart Program
Certified by the American College of Lifestyle Medicine, this program is brought to you by our friends at Rochester Lifestyle Medicine Institute. This 15-day intensive course will give you all the help you need to make a rapid transition to a whole food, plant-based, low fat diet, which is the only diet that has been shown to actually reverse heart disease. This diet also reverses type 2 diabetes, obesity, and high blood pressure, among others. There is a fee for this class, but scholarships are available.
